The Seminar is an opportunity to deepen the topic, to learn, and to practice Mindfulness Meditation with Claude AnShin Thomas. No prior meditation experience necessary.
Claude AnShin Thomas went to Vietnam at the age of eighteen, where he was seriously wounded, receiving numerous medals, including twenty-seven Air Medals, a Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Purple Heart. Today he is a monk in the Soto Zen Buddhist Tradition and an active speaker and Zen Teacher in the United States and Europe. He is also the founder of the Zaltho Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes peace and nonviolence.
Claude AnShin Thomas is intimately aware of the root causes of violence, our personal suffering. Ultimately war is just an collective and external expression of our individual suffering. We are conditioned to not be self reflective, to not face what seems uncomfortable, unpleasant, and undesirable. However, healing, inner peace, is not possible until we do. Claude AnShin Thomas will explore this topic together with the audience by sharing his journey from Soldier to Buddhist Monk.
