As you enter through the gates of El Rocio, you feel as though the dew of a new day will transform and awaken your senses. El Rocio translated into English means "the morning dew". Marsha Nelson, Ph. D.
El Rocio Retreat is a unique 18-acre property located outside the city limits of Mission, Texas. It was built several years ago by Mr. Craig Morton and later sold to Marsha and Michael Gamel, M.D. in 1995. The main home (Casa de Luna) is nestled in its natural surrounding. In fact, there is the "Tree of Life" which helps support the house. In the summer of 2004, a new addition was created to El Rocio. A 2000 sq. ft. meeting room (Casa Del Sol) was built nestled within the surrounding habitat. Wildlife such as bobcats, raccoons, green jays, roadrunners, hawks, javelinas, chachalacas and different varieties of butterflies can be seen in their natural habitat.
